Welcome to the page where hero basic attributes, skills, and overall usefulness in a party is measured. This guide is only meant to be used as a reference, and is only based on opinions; the actual worth of a hero should be determined by a player, and this should only be used as a guideline. In this guide, a variety of different things will be measured: damage, durability, skill utility, and how they fare in Tower, Hero Wars, Coliseum, and storyline quests. This info is subject to change as new information is learned, and people come up with tactics and strategies to use different heroes.

Season 1, Rank 1

Overview: These heroes are generally not the ones to first look for when considering end game content. Most of the heroes in this category lack abilities that scale well into the end game, and have relatively very low base stats compared to those that are naturally higher ranked. In addition, bronze tickets are actually not particularly common as one might normally expect, compounding on the difficulty of ranking these heroes due to the sheer number required. That being said however, many of these can be fairly useful in Coliseum, due to their comparatively high skill damage in the early level.

Melee

Arson

Skill = Pyrotechnics (200) Cross

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = A very... underwhelming hero. He is an absolute horror at times against him in the tower, but as an ally,... there isn't really much to say. His skill has a decent base damage early levels, burns, and hits in a cross, so he can be of some use in coliseum. However, if going for the DoT team, there are more efficient heroes to use, due to the fact that Arson uses up 200 fury, and most people do not start with a close-knit formation. Elsewhere, there are better heroes to look out for by a landslide.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B | Skill utility = C | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = B | Storyline = D

Drek

Skill = Cataclysm (200) FrontCross

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Also very underwhelming, even more so than Arson, although ever slightly more tanky. His skill can only be used on a front line target, has no DoT with only slightly more damage as base, and still costs the same amount of fury. Nothing else to really mention that hasn't been already, not very recommended to use.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B+ | Skill utility = D | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = C | Storyline = D

Pendragon Sentinel

Skill = Triple Skewer (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Nothing new to say. Heal debuff is not particularly helpful unless the other team/enemy has a complete sustain composition, and even then a cleanse will make the debuff completely useless. As an enemy in tower however, his heal block gets particularly annoying.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = B | Skill utility = C | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = C | Storyline = D

Nottingham Militiaman

Skill = Shout (200) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Fairly useful in coliseum in that his skill has decent base damage, potentially hits the entire enemy area, but more importantly, lowers the enemy's attack. Aggro draw is pointless in coliseum however, though it may have somewhat use in storyline quests and tower. Due to the low base stats, however, that is basically asking him to be killed, so please leave the militia of Nottingham alone for your tower forays, and stick to a better alternative.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = B | Skill utility = B | Tower = C | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = C | Storyline = C

Ribbart

Skill = Furious Pickaxe (100) FrontSingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = It's a Nipper that pushes back that can sort of tank. It's a frog version of Nipper. Which means, skippit.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = B | Skill utility = D | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = D | Storyline = D

Naga Fighter

Skill = Snake Crusher (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Surprisingly tanky once ranked up. Other than tankiness though, Naga Fighter doesn't really bring anything. Use if you manage to rank him up and have nothing else to use. Otherwise, skip.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = S | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C

Naga Warrior

Skill = Venom Fang (100) 1SquareBehind

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Very weird skill target, but being able to poison 2 targets with 100 fury is a plus for coliseum. Other than that, not much to be missed to use someone else.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B | Skill utility = C | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = S | Storyline = D

Ranged

Chimpie

Skill = Banana Dance (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Surprisingly, Chimpie's base stats will reach fairly high up if ranked. Of course, most people won't bother, so that is quite a moot point. Subpar skill damage, although with an attack debuff, along with the fact that it is a squishy hero, makes this hero easy to look over. His basic attacks would hurt for a lot if ranked though.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = D | Skill utility = C | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = C | Storyline = D

Nipper

Skill = Bolas Toss (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Kind of pointless to use. Repositioning skills could theoretically be worth using, but most of the time, you're not in the situation to be able to use it properly. Furthermore, being locked into only being able to reposition in one direction is pretty stupid. Other than that, poor base stats and horrid skill damage and effect, make this "cute" (?) dog (again (?)) not recommended to use anywhere.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = D | Storyline = D

Magic/Support

Naga Sorcerer

Skill = Soul Healing (100) Ally SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A healer which is easily outclassed by every other healer in the game. However, I change my mind about his usefulness in coliseum. The heals are actually exceptional in coliseum, although still a single target heal and have no other special effect. Skip for any other uses however.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = D | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = B | Storyline = D

Season 1, Rank 2

Overview: These heroes are generally considered the easiest to get, and therefore easiest to rank, even with the number of fuses required to max these out. Furthermore, some of these heroes have good use, even in the end game. However, there are those that leave much to be desired.

Melee

Mukigukit

Skill = Giant Fist (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = All hail the monkey king? Not this one. High fury cost for a skill that does nothing but damage, with fairly lackluster damage, makes this monkey king sad. It should be said that he does have some tanking capabilities once ranked up.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = A | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C

Sargatanas Jr.

Skill = Spirit Taker (200) FrontSingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = A useful hero with fury stealing capabilites, which help to use more skills on other heroes. It should be noted that the skill will regain at least 100 fury and at most 500 fury, making the effective skill cost 100 to -300. An ok tank, although due to fury stealing drawing aggro easily, take care not to get him killed. Damage is ok, even though an axe user has a fairly wide damage range.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B | Skill utility = A | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = A

Not Hanson

Skill = Fiery Fist (100) FrontSingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Attack debuff is always a nice thing to have, but Not Hanson, similar to the Forest Witch, suffers from the fact that there are better units to use. Can somewhat be useful to throw in a bit of damage onto the enemy and reduce damage taken in coliseum. However, it is better to only use him on S.O.S., if no other alternatives present themselves.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B+ | Skill utility = C+ | Tower = C | Hero Wars = C+ | Coliseum = B | Storyline = C+

Naga Dragonmaw

Skill = Snake Crusher (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Somehow, a worse version of Naga Fighter, despite being a higher rank. If you're attempting to bother to use him, use Naga Fighter instead.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B+ | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C

William

Skill = Shield Bash (300) FrontSingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Permanent stun possibility and good damage scaling on his skill makes William someone to be considered, even if he does annoys everybody in the storyline. That being said, his single target nature makes him more useful the less enemies there are in the field, and his high fury cost makes him impractical to use in coliseum.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = B+ | Skill utility = B | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D | Storyline = B

Barrke

Skill = Roll Over (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Damage and slight tankability is what this guy is good for, which means, he is only barely good at coliseum. For any other uses, Barrke can be looked over without much guilt. Points for stylishness...? I find him kind of ugly though.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = A | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = D | Coliseum = C+ | Storyline = C

Ranged

Sarah

Skill = Piercing Shot (200) Column

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = 100% chance of defense debuff and a decent damage scaling on her skill hitting in a column, makes Sarah potent to pile damage on someone quickly. Her base damage may not be the most stellar of archers, but Sarah is definitely someone to consider to shred the defenses of enemies.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = D | Skill utility = B | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = C | Storyline = B

Magic/Support

Lindsay

Skill = Lifelight (200) Ally Row

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Despite being a 2* Season 1 hero, Lindsay is extremely potent as a healer: her heal has a fairly high scaling, allowing her to heal at a high rate; her weapon is a bow, which is known for its consistent damage, making her have a consistent heal; her AGI is extremely high, making her perform critical heals much more often, making her already high heals even more potent; she is extremely easy to rank due to her being a Season 1 2* hero, meaning you will obtain Lindsay very often. Often compared with Tiphareth, Lindsay is often chosen over the former due to her heals simply hit a row, rather than a cross, making Lindsay easier to use for auto battles. Lindsay also performs very well in Hero Wars, where she will prolong the battle for a long time if not dealt with, so dealing with her quickly, or bursting down defenders in one blow is a must. She is very fragile however, so do your best to keep her away from harm.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = S | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = C | Storyline = A

Sibyl

Skill = Magic Burst 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = High fury cost, lackluster scaling, and user of staves which tend to be lackluster, makes Sibyl easy to look over. Considering the fact that all her skill does is damage anyways (which isn't even that great), skipping over her is whole-heartedly agreed.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C

Forest Witch

Skill = Silent Forest (200) Column

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Not very much going in the way of Forest Witch to recommend using her. Silence is shaky in utility at best, because bosses destroy in higher levels with basic attacks (sometimes hurts more than their skill), and she uses a staff, making her slightly unfavored. She does do a bit of damage with work put into her, but there are better heroes to put in your limited party size. She also falls off in coliseum, due to people's tendencies to not bunch heroes together too often. However, silence can mess up the enemy's damage input a bit.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = C | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C | Storyline = C

Season 1, Rank 3

Overview: Similar to rank 2 heroes, rank 3 heroes are easy to rank, and generally get them in a fair abundance, even with silver tickets. Also similar to rank 2 heroes, these heroes have those that will grow to be useful even until the end game, while others are lacking to be considered for proper use. However, an added benefit for a rank 3 hero, is that they start off at a higher rank, meaning that players have better heroes for use at the very beginning compared to the rank 2 heroes.

Melee

Turk

Skill = Great Quake (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = There are way too many things wrong with this hero. First of all, his damage can be described in two words: not good. His tankiness for what he is can also be described in two words: not good. Reliability? Not good. Utility? Not good. His chance of stun is not all that high, and is only offset by the fact that his skill hits a 3x3 area. But that makes it so that his damage is subpar. At the same time, that huge area makes Turk become the center of attention, since he won't be killing anything anyways, and ends up taking a ton of damage. But Turk's survivability is just not very good. So he will die. And this will happen consistently, making Turk's death basically the only thing consistent about him. To further make things problematic, his fury cost is way too high for the whole lot of next to nothing that he does. Try not to use Turk for too much if possible; his place in a party and fury can be used on much better things.

Grade | Damage = D+ | Durability = B+ | Skill utility = C | Tower = C | Hero Wars = C+ | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C

Ananta

Skill = Overpower (200) FrontCross

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Ananta, like Turk, have some problems, but she is much more manageable than Turk is. The stun is still unreliable. However, Ananta's damage is better than that of Turk's, meaning that she might actually kill something. Her skill also hits in a frontal cross, meaning that she won't attract as much attention as Turk. Her fury cost is also lower as a side bonus. Even so, this only makes Ananta slightly better, and there still are other heroes that are much more desirable to use. However, Ananta is the better alternative to Turk.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = B | Skill utility = C | Tower = C+ | Hero Wars = C+ | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C+

Kruel

Skill = Elegant Brutality (100) FrontSingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Good hefty damage on a single target, and not a bad amount of durability. However, his single target nature does make Kruel slightly less favorable to use. The attack debuff from his skill does make him feasible to use against bosses though. Depends on preference to whether to use Kruel.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = B+ | Skill utility = C+ | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C | Storyline = B

Hanson

Skill = Mourning Spear (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Another hero meant to only deal damage. His bleed does help in that aspect. However, he uses a spear, which has a pretty large swing in the damage range, so he is not all too consistent. Him stabbing people is pretty cool to watch though.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = B | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = B | Storyline = C+

Gaston

Skill = Hearty Roar (200) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Damage-wise, Gaston sucks. But like the Nottingham Militia, Gaston's purpose is to provoke the enemy, and prepare his body to be smacked around. Unlike his militia though, Gaston is actually easy to rank up, and ends up quite tanky. Not advised to use in auto-battles however, because that will just get him killed. Also useless in coliseum due to provoke doing nothing there, and only doing terrible damage with a small attack debuff.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = A | Skill utility = A | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D | Storyline = B

Ranged

Dober

Skill = Cobra Shot (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Pure damage single target attacker, but does respectable amount of damage for his job. However, single target damage is not very good in tower. Add to the fact that Dober has no skill utility to bring, and only brings damage (which might end up being overkill anyways), makes Dober not all that useful in the Tower of Chaos. However, in Hero Wars, Dober can help to burst down a target before the target receives any help, and Dober truly shines in coliseum, where he will just shoot someone's face off with high damage poison.

Grade | Damage = B+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = A | Storyline = B

Radin

Skill = Blade Dance (200) Row

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Radin is another hero that only ever does damage, but Radin does a lot of it. His row range of his skill makes it so that his damage does not have a fall off, and remains consistent among all targets. Add the fact that his weapon is the consistent damage dealing bow, and you have a reliable damage dealer. Of course, Radin should only be brought if a huge amount of damage is required.

Grade | Damage = B+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B+ | Coliseum = C | Storyline = B

Jarkan

Skill = Crimson Bomber (200) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = I don't personally understand people wanting to put Jarkan in the front lines when there are much better alternatives. Sure, he may have a little bit more of STR and VIT than a normal damage dealer, but Jarkan is not a tank. If Jarkan takes hits, he will definitely feel them majorly. Perhaps it's because people do not want to waste a spot in the back line for Jarkan? Then go for a different hero. However, as a fury stealer, Jarkan's damage isn't too bad, though his damage is unreliable at best, and his fairly low AGI stat makes him fall behind in dealing damage compared to other damage dealers. Jarkan's just in a really weird position.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C+ | Storyline = B

Magic/Support

Lindy

Skill = First Aid (100) Ally SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A single target healer who isn't bad at all in her own right. Problem with using her in tower however, is that she is a single target healer, so you can only heal one hero per turn. Which is not ideal when you have damage getting on to your heroes everywhere. However, in Hero Wars and Coliseum, Lindy is exceptionally annoying at getting people to live way longer than they should due to her regeneration from her skill. The downside is that her weapon is a tome, which is not known for its damage, leading to a lower heal than one may like for a single target.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = B+ | Tower = C+ | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = B

Nebiros

Skill = Dark Prayer (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Not many places where Nebiros is good at. He only has a single target skill with a staff as a weapon, meaning his usefulness in tower is not all that great. His skill is only a silence, meaning that effect is only really useful in Hero Wars, but only to stop one enemy from using a skill. His base damage at level 1 is horrendous, making him next to useless in coliseum, other than his silence. Easily overlooked.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = C | Tower = D+ | Hero Wars = C+ | Coliseum = C | Storyline = C

Season 1, Rank 4

Overview: Rank 4 heroes tend to be more difficult to obtain than rank 3 heroes are, leading to more difficult time of ranking these heroes most of the time. In addition, some of the heroes in this particular group have questionable uses, such as both of the dispel heroes. However, there are some heroes that are extremely useful as well, such as Khalid and Dinari.

Melee

Angela

Skill = Spear Toss (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Soso damage, decent durability, skill effect of questionable value. Skill is more useful in Hero Wars than in tower, due to there being more buffs used in Hero Wars. Usually not necessary however. In coliseum, she can be useful in exposing Guinevere to take focused damage, among other things.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B | Skill utility = C | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B+ | Coliseum = B | Storyline = C

Sargatanas

Skill = Death Sentence (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Not all too good as a tank, Sargatanas is more known for his delayed damage skill. This does not help much against enemies in tower, where the goal is to destroy them in a turn or two. However, in the longer drawn out fights in Hero Wars and coliseum, the skill truly shines in blowing someone up with immense amount of damage, with the additional benefit of having the delayed damage portion ignoring shields completely. Definitely a hero to consider.

Grade | Damage = B+ | Durability = C+ | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B+ | Coliseum = S | Storyline = C

Khalid

Skill = Soul Slayer (200) FrontSingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Fury stealer with ok durability, similar to Sargatanas Jr. Expect slightly less, but consistent damage due to Khalid using a sword.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = B+ | Skill utility = A | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = A

Mordred

Skill = Flourish (100) FrontSingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Similar to Kruel the way Khalid is similar to Sargatanas Jr. However, Mordred has no durability at all for a front liner. Feel free to look at other alternatives.

Grade | Damage = D+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = C+ | Tower = D | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = C+ | Storyline = C

Ranged

Robin

Skill = Sea of Fire (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Another hero that only does damage. However, he does it in a massive area, with a chance of burning them for more damage. Good damage even without the skill, but once again, that is the only thing Robin can bring. Damage.

Grade | Damage = A | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D+ | Storyline = B

Felix

Skill = Poison Rain (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Same as Robin except with slightly less damage, but slightly more survivability. Difference is negligible though, and they are essentially the same. Depends on preference as to which to use. Use both if preferred, though not advised due to them both having massive fury costs. Getting the 5* Felix from reviewing the game is a bonus, so Felix may be advantageous to use for starting off at rank 5.

Grade | Damage = A | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D+ | Storyline = B

Eluria

Skill = Ecstatic Hymn (200) Row

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A non-tanky Angela that dispels in a row rather than a column. Same with Angela, although row dispel does have slight more use since buffs are generally either single target, or row based. Eluria is also the hardest counter available against a Guinevere in coliseum, with the possibility of removing every skill shield if the enemy has not repositioned their units.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = C+ | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = B+ | Storyline = C

Treant Elder

Skill = Forest Prison (300) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Horrid skill damage for a single target skill, with a high fury cost. The only real use for Treant Elder is his ability to lock one target down regardless of position. Not necessary to look into this hero.

Grade | Damage = D+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = B+ | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C

Magic/Support

Dinari

Skill = Royal Flush (200) Ally Row

Recommended position = Far back line

Summary = The skill makes up this entire hero. Extremely potent skill, causing critical rate to rise by 40% for all heroes in a row for 3 turns, make this hero next to essential in every solo tower party, especially since heals can also crit, making for huge heal bursts. However, his level 1 skill is not very worthwhile to mention, and Dinari is somewhat less effective in Hero Wars, though is by no means bad. A plus for Dinari is that his skill is not dependent on his weapon. He can simply walk into tower with only armor and he would be completely ok. However, that can also be a downside, since there is no way to improve his skill.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = D | Skill utility = SS | Tower = SS | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D+ | Storyline = A

Ione

Skill = Evergreen (100) Ally SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Another single target healer, but with a cleanse effect rather than a regeneration. Very few uses in tower, but is immensely potent in hero wars, allowing a stunned ally to move and massively heal the ally at the same time. Also fairly potent in coliseum in removing all ailments on an ally.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = B | Hero Wars = S | Coliseum = A | Storyline = B

Season 1, Rank 5

Overview: Rare to obtain, though whether obtaining these heroes are worth it is debatable at times. Difficult to rank through same card fusion method, but their base rank stats are often high enough to merit not fusing them at all.

Melee

Arthur

Skill = King's Judgment (200) FrontCross

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Arthur is popularly regarded as one of the greatest damage-tanks of Season 1; and he is pretty good. But like many damage-tanks, he compromises his damage and tankiness to be able to perform in both. His skill is a 100% delayed damage proc that splashes in a cross, so while he has great uses in Hero Wars and Coliseum, his skill utility in the Tower of Chaos is usually only as good as his initial damage (which is pretty average for damage-tanks).

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = B | Skill utility = C | Tower = C | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = C+

Karinna

Skill = Heavenly Sword (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Like her father, Karinna's skill is also based on delayed damage. Unfortunately, Karinna herself is rather underwhelming. Her skill only has about a 30% proc rate and costs 300 fury, making her impractical for Tower use and unreliable just about anywhere else. Adding on to how she has unusually low tankability and initial damage for a melee user, she's someone who is easily replaceable.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D+ | Skill utility = D+ | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C | Storyline = C

Gareth

Skill = Warrior Spirit (200) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Gareth is Gaston; seriously, their names even start with the same letter. Their skills do the exact same thing with the exact same base damage and debuff %, and even their stats are nearly the same at the same rank. Like his counterpart, Gareth is geared towards a more defensive playstyle, so if you use him, make sure to have an Owen or Serisa in your party to shield him from all the aggro he'll attract. His skill has very low damage and is heavily based on manipulating an AI's enmity, so he's pretty much useless in anything outside Tower plays and Hero Wars.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = A | Skill utility = A | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D | Storyline = B

Owen

Skill = Stalwart Defense (100) Ally SingleTarget

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Owen is a support-tank that shields an ally from a fair amount of damage, but you usually won't need a shield if you have a good healer unless you're going for a very defensive playstyle. His shield can prove to be rather annoying in Hero Wars though, because anything that can't bypass the shield will count as a 'miss', so an attack's additional effects won't apply. Unfortunately, his shield can be dispelled by Angela or Eluria, and there are better tanks than him in the game, so if you don't need a shield, you can probably move on.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = D+ | Skill utility = B+ | Tower = C+ | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = C

Ranged

Vanessa

Skill = Smoke Bomb (200) Cross

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A damage dealer that also causes attack debuff in a cross. The main problem with Vanessa is that she is one of the few cannon users. This means that she has a huge damage range, and so while she may hit extremely high at times, other times, her damage will be miserable. Overall, she isn't terrible as a unit, but she does come off as slightly unreliable. Use your best judgement in deciding on whether to use Vanessa.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C | Storyline = B

Melissa

Skill = Vengeful Arrow (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = I REALLY want to like Melissa, I really do. But Melissa is somewhat of a hit or miss zone for me. Most of the enemies she attacks usually end up... half dead. Her damage isn't bad overall though, and her defense debuff can help somewhat. She does tend to draw aggro a lot however, so a bit of caution is advised when using her. Melissa shines in softening up the enemy so all her allies can finish them off with relative ease. Feel free to use her in tower to abuse her range and relative abundance of fury. She is hindered by the fury in other modes though.

Grade | Damage = B+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = C+ | Tower = A | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D | Storyline = B+

Magic/Support

Tiphareth

Skill = Divine Blessing (200) Ally Cross

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A very esteemed healing hero that the community seems to love. She is good, but only if you know how to use her. Which means, using Tiphareth in auto-battle is a pretty bad idea. Her healing range is very awkward, and will not fully cover a row or column in tower. However, in regular battles, she is immensly potent, with large heals and a regeneration component to boot. It must be mentioned that Tiphareth does not have nearly the same crit rate as Lindsay though, so her heals usually are not as bursty most of the time, even with Dinari.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = S

Guinevere

Skill = Angelic Smile (300) Ally Row

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Guinevere is a cleanser ... and really, only a cleanser. The great thing about her is that she lifts all debuffs on a given row (including stuns and silences) and protects that row from oncoming skills. The problem is that she also lifts all positive buffs on that row, and her heal just downright sucks. Thus, she is incredibly situational in Tower (usually not used), but quite potent in Hero Wars if she goes off. Her fury cost is far too high for practical use in Coliseum though, so you can skip over her for the most part.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = D | Skill utility = B+ | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C+ | Storyline = C

Morgan Le Fay

Skill = Abyssal Summons (300) Ally SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A hero that relies on her summon to do most of her bidding. In Hero Wars, she gets to be unbelievably annoying. First of all, her summon turns the fight into a 5v6, and her spider is actually extremely durable, stuns, and does a fair bit of damage. Second of all, you can kill the spider, but Morgan le Fay can just summon another one, and conversely, killing Morgan le Fay does nothing to the spider; the spider just says screw that and keeps smacking you. Same business in the coliseum, though since you can focus on a target easily in the coliseum, she is less useful. In the tower, she is much too unreliable, since the spider just hits someone random, and Morgan's own attack power is low.

Fersona

Skill = Bewitch (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Does a fair amount of single target damage with her skill, which is spammable with its low fury cost, and serves to shut one hero down from damaging your party much in Hero Wars with the charm effect. Because of its low fury cost, Fersona's skill may be preferred over a similar single target stun, and the forced basic attack on the hero with the highest enmity makes it more useful than a silence. However, be aware that the affected unit can still attack. Her single target nature makes her obsolete in tower. She is very potent in coliseum due to her ability to completely shut down a single target, but is slightly risky due to her very low durability.

Season 2, Rank 1

Overview: Boasts higher stats than their season 1 counterparts, but otherwise shares similar traits with them.

Melee

Broken Arrow Trainer

Skill = Force Strike (100) File:Front SingleTarget.png

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Broken Arrow Trainer is weird in that he pushes targets to the right. Other than that, there's nothing else special about him; he's just a bit tankier and does a bit more damage than say Ribbart. It is funny to tell a unit to move aside to hit someone behind the moved target in coliseum though.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = A | Skill utility = D | Tower = D | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = C+ | Storyline = D

Broken Arrow Destroyer

Skill = Body Blow (100) File:Front SingleTarget.png

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Literally a Ribbart that tanks a bit more and deals more damage. Nothing else to it.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = A | Skill utility = D | Tower = D | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = B | Storyline = D

Ranged

Broken Arrow Spy

Skill = Leafwalk (100) File:Front SingleTarget.png

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Broken Arrow Spy does end up with a fairly high AGI. However, the time it takes to bring him up to that level, and the fact that he only hits one target ever, makes it so that it's recommended to use someone else most of the time.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = D+ | Tower = D+ | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = B | Storyline = C

Broken Arrow Looter

Skill = Ptooie! (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Similar to the Broken Arrow Spy, except that Looter poisons instead of lowering defense. If you want to use either of them, then it is preference based. Looter's DoT is more useful most of the time though. The DoT does make Looter very good in coliseum however.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = D+ | Hero Wars = C+ | Coliseum = A | Storyline = C

Season 2, Rank 2

Overview: With a small selection to choose from, season 2 rank 2 heroes still have its number of fine picks. Although much harder to obtain than season 1 rank 2 heroes, some of these heroes are worth it to rank up when possible

Melee

Broken Arrow Assassin

Skill = Precision Strikes (200) Ally Row

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = An interesting support character. Unlike the crit rate chance buff of Dinari, which increases average damage by increasing chances of critical hit, Assassin literally increases their average damage. However, the increase is based on Assassin's base damage, and only increases with a ratio of maximum of 20%. Since Assassin uses a sword, it means that the damage boost is not all too impressive. To get the best out of this ability, use it in tower, where up to 4 targets can benefit per cast. Totally useless in coliseum, since her early level skill is next to worthless.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = A | Skill utility = B | Tower = B | Hero Wars = C+ | Coliseum = D+ | Storyline = C+

Scraggleweald

Skill = Hell Fire (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = A tank that is more focused on pure damage. This puts Scraggleweald in a slightly strange position, but fortunately for him, unlike Arthur and Karinna, his durability is not really compromised for being more damage oriented. He is best used in tower due to the higher freedom of fury usage, somewhat less useful in Hero Wars, although can still be useful, and not very good in coliseum.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = A+ | Skill utility = D | Tower = B | Hero Wars = C+ | Coliseum = C | Storyline = B

Ranged

Harold

Skill = Heroic Heart (200) Row

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A fury stealer somewhat like the Sniper with a gun equipped, albeit with a row targetting skill instead of a column. Fairly consistent damage output, and with his fury stealing nature basically letting Harold use his skill at any time, makes Harold definitely someone not easily dismissed. Laziness pays off I guess?

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = A | Hero Wars = B+ | Coliseum = B | Storyline = B+

Magic/Support

Arielle

Skill = Overflow (200) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = As a pure damage dealer, Arielle doesn't really do all that much damage, due to her weapon being a staff. Nothing noteworthy about her, meaning Arielle is hard pressed to find a place in anyone's party.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = C | Hero Wars = C | Coliseum = D | Storyline = C

Season 2, Rank 3

Overview: Although slightly difficult to obtain through normal gameplay, many of these heroes boast higher stats and utility than that of season 1 heroes. Once these heroes reach a respectable rank, they can become a force to be reckoned with.

Melee

Camille

Skill = Frost Wind (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = A tankier damage tank than Scraggleweald, Camille does her job at tanking fairly well. However, her damage is slightly unreliable with her spear, though her 100% chance of causing a DoT with her skill is nice.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = S | Skill utility = D | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = B | Storyline = B

Vera

Skill = True Moon (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Slightly tankier than Camille, Vera trades off a little bit of damage for slight more durability. Her skill reaches a large area, and can potentially cause a defense debuff as well as a bleed, but may not hit as hard as Camille's skill as a sword user. However, her slightly better durability may prove more useful in tower runs for surviving.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = S+ | Skill utility = D+ | Tower = B+ | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C | Storyline = B

Ranged

Sigrune

Skill = Dark Arrow (200) Column

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = A heavy damage dealing archer, Sigrune also has the added benefit of reducing the enemy's attack. Very useful skill, along with a high damage output, means that Sigrune should not be dismissed easily.

Grade | Damage = A+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = B | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = C | Storyline = A

Magic/Support

Brynhilt

Skill = Blood Confession (100) Ally SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Brynhilt is a single-target healer who grants an additional status that allows the healed hero to absorb HP based on the damage they deal, which in this case, also includes damage done by skills. Because of this dependency on other heroes to perform well, Brynhilt is often seen as a late-game healer (outclassed by Lindy in the early game). Her single-target nature makes her unfit for Tower, but she can fare pretty well in Hero Wars and coliseum.

Grade | Damage = C | Durability = D | Skill utility = B | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B+ | Coliseum = B+ | Storyline = C+

Season 2, Rank 4

Overview: Although many of these heroes come with useful utility skills, some of these heroes are unavailable through non heart means, and are difficult to obtain otherwise anyways. Difficult to rank up, but may be worth it to given their overall usefulness.

Melee

Big Tao

Skill = Big Pow (200) Row

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Big Tao really does come with big pow! ... Except that his pow isn't always big because of his spear's damage range. Big Tao has fairly high damage and high tankability, making him a viable option for anywhere you choose to place him.

Grade | Damage = B+ | Durability = S+ | Skill utility = C+ | Tower = B+ | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = B

Magic/Support

Ereina

Skill = Spiritfriend (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = The summon is literally cheating. Ereina summons a separate entity, capable of healing the entire party at a high rate. Deal with her like you would deal with Morgan le Fay; kill the queen, then kill the minion. This is difficult to do in Hero Wars however, since targetting anything is difficult, and taking her down is made harder by the constant heal from the summon. Preferably permastun/silence her before she can act, to make life a lot easier.

Grade | Damage = D | Durability = D | Skill utility = S | Tower = A+ | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = A

Kainan

Skill = Firebird (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Kainan is a Robin with a staff. Staff users are a bit less flexible than bows though, so preference to decide on which hero to use. Season 2 is supposed to be better, but staves generally have less damage.

Grade | Damage = B+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = D | Tower = B | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = D+ | Storyline = B

Serisa

Skill = Night Mantle (100) Ally SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Owen's ranged counterpart, Serisa sports a slightly better shield than Owen because of her higher stats and greater skill level-up bonuses. Her skill's usefulness is merely a precaution in Tower, but makes for a very good defense in Hero Wars. Her base damage isn't too bad either.

Grade | Damage = C+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = B+ | Tower = C+ | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = B | Storyline = B

Season 2, Rank 5

Overview:" Similar to season 2 rank 4 heroes, though starting at a higher rank, while being even harder to obtain.

Melee

Kuroko

Skill = Lightning Slash (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = High, consistent damage; 100% proc rate; a great skill that guarantees a critical hit on the next attack landed on the target on a 3x3 area, and best of all, she doesn't compromise her tankability to keep it together. Her debuff is especially great for any follow up attacks to wipe out any and every of the remaining enemies, even by using a basic attack. On top of that, Kuroko has a strangely high critical hit rate, and even her basic attacks hurt. Recommended for use almost anywhere.

Grade | Damage = S | Durability = SS | Skill utility = S | Tower = S | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = A | Storyline = S

Shyre

Skill = Torrent (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Shyre has a chance at a two-turned stun. That is all. Except in coliseum, where he gets nerfed to a 1 turn stun. High damage, high tankability, recommended to use if you are lucky enough to own him.

Grade | Damage = A | Durability = SS | Skill utility = A | Tower = A | Hero Wars = S | Coliseum = B | Storyline = A

Ranged

Alfina

Skill = Crossfire (100) SingleTarget

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = As much as I would love to say Alfina is good, I cannot say really say that she is. Decent for damage, but with a skill that doesn't contribute much in a large fight of the tower, and of questionable help in hero wars, I cannot really say that Alfnia is good; she is just on the rarer side because of the method to obtain her... as of the time of writing this anyways.

Grade | Damage = B | Durability = D | Skill utility = C | Tower = C | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = B | Storyline = B

Erin

Skill = Silver Arrow (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Erin idolized Melissa so much that she surpassed her big time. Her skill hits decently harder and her attack debuff has a 100% proc rate while being the highest among all other attack debuffers (40%, like her single-target counterparts). This makes her a good option, even for a defensive playstyle, in Tower and Hero Wars.

Grade | Damage = A | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = A | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C | Storyline = A

Magic/Support

Furia

Skill = Doom Ray (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Furia's skill is a 3x3 AoE with the chance of Silence and a decent proc rate. She's relatively powerful, but like any other silencer, her skill utility is rather obsolete in the higher levels of tower and her 300 fury-cost yields better options for Coliseum.

Grade | Damage = A | Durability = D | Skill utility = C | Tower = C+ | Hero Wars = B+ | Coliseum = C | Storyline = C+

Season 3, Rank 5

Overview: I think Remia was a rank 4, but she would be too lonely there. In any case, with even higher stats than that of season 2 heroes, season 3 heroes have the capability to tank and deal out damage at some of the highest capabilities out of the heroes released so far. However, there are no ways to get them through playing the game; these are strictly heart only at the current time (MG Ione is real life money only)

Melee

Amara

Skill = Thunder Strike (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Essentially a Turk that doesn't just bowl over like a glass bottle being hit by a wrecking ball. Reliability is still a major issue, though the presense of damage does absolve him from it slightly, although aggro pull and low chance of proccing the stun are still major issues. As a season 3 hero, Amara does boast a higher stat pool than what exists in the present, so this may be a big incentive to get him; expect him to be outclassed later on however, as better units are inevitable to come, and Amara has nothing that makes him stand out other than his stats. (For example, Dinari has his crit boosts, and Broken Arrow Assassin have attack boosts, while Kuroko has expose weakness. These are effects that overcome the stat differences when determining the usefulness of a character. It is up to the players to decide what is the most important when setting up their teams.)

Grade | Damage = S | Durability = S | Skill utility = B | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = C | Storyline = A

Remia

Skill = Death Spear (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = Cool looking skill, character design is cool, but her usefulness is very limited. Couple the weak damage of a 3x3 skill with a low chance of proccing an effect of questionable use (A DoT... and only a DoT. Why?) makes Remia very subpar. Similar to Amara, as Remia is a season 3 hero, you can expect her to boast higher stats. That alone does not make up for her shortcomings however, and she is not necessarily a staple in any party by any means. Once again though, player preference, but Remia is not to be chosen if a tank with utility is what is desired.

Grade | Damage = S | Durability = S | Skill utility = C | Tower = B+ | Hero Wars = B | Coliseum = C | Storyline = B+

Drake

Skill = Searing Chain (200) Column

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = With a skill that can stun for 2 turns with the freedom to choose who to stun, whether in the front or turtling at the back, Drake is exceptional as shutting down a single or two targets of his choice. His skill is a little strange in that the front target still takes the main damage with the targets behind taking the falloff damage, but it does little to detract from his overall usefulness. In addition, the 2 turns are enough to keep any boss disabled for half of their immunity durations. His damage may be a little more to be desired as he is a sword user, but Drake is definitely a solid character all around, with decent damage regardless, good durability, and a flexible, reliable, and powerful skill. In coliseum however, his turn gets reduced to a single turn, and at a chance, reducing his usefulness drastically.

Grade | Damage = A | Durability = SS | Skill utility = S | Tower = S | Hero Wars = S | Coliseum = C | Storyline = S

Nicki

Skill = Moondance (200) Row

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = A melee version of Harold. Nicki also has the benefit of being able to smash down the entire back line, which is something very useful if attempting to take down high priority targets. Let us also not forget the fact that she is unbelievably tanky... even if she looks flimsy. She is also a fury thief on top of that. Just... wow.

Grade | Damage = A | Durability = SS | Skill utility = A | Tower = S | Hero Wars = S | Coliseum = B | Storyline = S

Yukio

Skill = Falling Petals (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Front line

Summary = As of writing this, no one does as much potential damage as Yukio can. Her base skill part is nothing special, a 3x3 aoe of a sword character. However, her delayed damage, when procced, does extreme damage with an insane attack damage scaling, and is capable to wiping things off the map. Of course, that being said, delayed damage doesn't matter when things are already dead, which is usually the case in tower. Definitely useful in hero wars to cut through armor using sheer damage though.

Grade | Damage = SS | Durability = SS | Skill utility = D | Tower = B+ | Hero Wars = SS | Coliseum = B | Storyline = A

Ranged

Blood Pearl

Skill = Sea of Silence (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Blood Pearl has a very... unique and not unique use with her skill. 2-turn silence is nice if procced, though the use of it is again questionable in a tower run. However, her skill provides knockback over the entire area, which is massive, and can provide better targetting for your row and 3x3 hitters (column hitters will not benefit much). Her damage is also respectable, and again, a 2 turn silence is nothing to laugh at. Harder to use in coliseum as people tend to pack units in 2 separate rows, but for those who do not, Blood Pearl can punish them by shoving everyone back to suffer heavy punishment.

Grade | Damage = A+ | Durability = D | Skill utility = B+ | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A+ | Coliseum = B | Storyline = A

Ariesse

Skill = Flying Dagger (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Basically the same as Erin with a stat buff. Whatever applied to her, applies here, though with overall higher stats.

Grade | Damage = S | Durability = D | Skill utility = A | Tower = A+ | Hero Wars = B+ | Coliseum = C | Storyline = A

Elina

Skill = Ice Flower (300) 3x3

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = Not much to say for her. Slightly unreliable with only a 1 turn stun, but has damage to make up for it.

Grade | Damage = S | Durability = D | Skill utility = B | Tower = A | Hero Wars = A | Coliseum = C+ | Storyline = A

Magic/Support

Magical Girl Ione

Skill = Magical Thunder (200) Column

Recommended position = Back line

Summary = As a disclaimer, I am not going to spend $50 just to obtain this character, and so I can only give a rough estimate of the effectiveness of Magical Girl Ione based on fighting against her, and my experiences of playing the game. As far as damage goes, she does better than other magic users due to her defense ignoring DoT as well as her extremely high INT. However, this is not enough to propel her usefulness in tower past that of other damage dealers, along with the fact that both DoT and defense debuffs are less useful in tower runs than some of the other effects are; her damage will not likely surpass those of ranged damage dealers. However, in hero wars, both her DoT's attribute of ignoring defense and defense reduction help immensly in decimating enemies, along with her ignoring physical defense in the first place due to her being a magical attack hero. I'm not going to say anything about her school outfit.
